Derrike Cope was back driving the #30 Pontiac for the Bahari' Racing team owned by Chuck Rider and Lowrance Harry in 1999. The team also started with a new crew chief for 1999 in Dan Glauz.

At the beginning of the year it was announced that Bryan, Jimmy Dean, State Fair, and Rudy's Farm would be primary sponsors. Two pages of photos are available from the announcement (one and two), at the raceshop, promotional photos, Bryan photos, and the Las Vegas Food Show. Changes happened in the offseason at Bahari' Racing. A Q&A was held with Derrike Cope, Chuck Rider, and Dan Glauz. There was an article in Truckers News about the Bahari' Transporter. Jimmy Dean celebrated their 30th Anniversary with a special paint scheme. Jimmy Dean also produced a special cookbook and held an interactive cooking village in Charlotte in May.

1999 Postcard The big news happened during the year when Bahari' Racing was sold to Eel River Racing. Derrike was then available to explore other options in the year 2000. Barry Dodson was hired as crew chief. Derrike was featured before the Watkins Glen race.

Derrike in #41 uniform After three weeks with the new team, it was mutually agreed that Derrike would leave Eel-River Racing.

Derrike picked up a ride later in the year when he was signed to drive the #91 Chevrolet for LJ Racing in Loudon and the #41 Kodiak Chevrolet for Larry Hedrick Motorsports in other races. It was then announced that Fenley-Moore Motorsports signed Derrike to be their driver for two races this year and for the year 2000. We had the opportunity to interview Derrike about his new ride.
