| Bryan Foods is the most powerful
brand in the meat case across its Southern market area. Known as "The Flavor of the
South!" to its consumers, Bryan produces a complete line of high quality products,
including hot dogs, bacon, ham, lunchmeats, smoked sausage and fresh pork. Founded in West Point, Miss., in 1936 by John H. Bryan,
Sr. and his brother W.B. Bryan, the original Bryan Brothers Packing Company has grown to
employ 2,500 people. With headquarters still in West Point, Bryan joined the Sara lee
Corp. (Known then as Consolidated Foods) in 1968. With three manufacturing plants, Bryan
is the largest processor of fresh pork in the Southeast.
A community leader throughout the South, Bryan
takes pride in its commitment in supporting education. Currently, Bryan is sponsoring an
essay contest in which students are asked how to keep their goals on track. Derrike Cope
will present contest winners with more than $40,000 in scholarships and computers in 1999. |
