Because of rain, first round qualifying was postponed on Friday. 

In Saturday morning's practice, Derrike was 25th fastest with a time of 29.704 and speed of 128.225.

In the one round of qualifying on Saturday, Derrike was the first on the track and produced a time of 30.116 and speed of 126.471. At the end of the round the #91 Chevrolet was left in 45th position and out of the field.

After the qualifying attempt, Derrike stated that being first on the track did not help, especially with the slick track conditions. That accounted for the slower time in qualifying.
