Goody's 500 Live Report by Bob Retzler

We (my sister and I) arrived at BMS at 9:00am to enjoy the whole day. I picked up some discounted work shirts at the departing driver trailers. Popped over to the Kyle Petty trailer to drop off some can goods for the local food bank. Time was flying!

The weather was super, including a fine breeze. The top cars ran fast times in the morning practice. Only 2 drivers tried to re-qualify, but neither could post a faster lap to crack the top 36. Mr. Trickle smacked the outside wall on his second lap. Happy Hour was very exciting with side by side racing going on. Gordon and Skinner rubbed bumpers into turn one. Luckily Mike got it under control.

Went back to the vehicle to have a cook out and pick my fantasy drivers. Met some people from Ohio, N. Carolina that were parked around us. Entered the track about 6:45pm. I got to meet the people in charge of the fantasy league. I picked some drivers that finished up there at the end.

As for the race, it was good until the end. Enough said.

NOTES:

• A track announcer said, "Dale Earnhardt hit everything tonight, except the lotto".
• Second time Dale E. has hit Terry L. in the last lap of a race at BMS.
• Mr. Nadeau got the penalty box, but Mr. Earnhardt just got the term "aggressive" driving.
