MBNA Platinum 400 Live Report

Well, to say the race was
uneventful might be an understatement. We could not find any DC hats or
shirts at the trailers.
At the start of the race Derrike
said the car was a lot freer than in Happy Hour and seemed pleased that the
changes really helped. However after a few laps the car
"tightened" up a lot. I thought they should pit but DC was told to
ride it out and see what he could with the car. DC said he would try.
There did not seem to be much
communication as in the past between crew and DC about what changes they
would make. In other years when I was at a race you would hear things being
discussed. The race went on and the car was TERRIBLE. DC said he could not
get one gas in the corners at all. As I said it was a pretty uneventful day
for the Jimmy Dean crew and fans as the car never got any better after 3 or
4 laps on tires.
The race ended and I didn't hear
anything on the scanner after the race as far as discussing the car or where
he finished. There was not much talk during the race as to who DC was
racing.
