Pocono 500 Live Report

I sat in section S7, row M. I was very close to
the track and could not see all the way around the track. The only plus is when there was
the rain delay, Derrike's car was stopped right out in front of me.
In the begining of the race Derrike was doing
okay, but his car started to get loose and fell to the back of the pack. During the first
pit stop, he gained a few positions by doing a fast pit stop. His car started to get loose
again and again he headed toward the back of the field.
I could not see the accident that happened
between him and Ernie Irvan, but Derrike came across the radio and said that Ernie had hit
him. He didn't say it in that way, but you know what I mean. After that Derrike went down
a by a few laps. I thought that he and his pit crew did a great job by keeping the car
running as well as they did. He was still running quite fast. He moved up the through the
field because other drivers had car troubles or accidents.
I was glad to see that he finished the race even
though he was down a few laps. I still don't know what happened when the accident occured.
I have watched everything I can on the TV, but unless it is one of the usual winners it
doesn't make the TV. |
