After spending $300 on a plane ticket, $90 on a race ticket, trudging through the rain and mud, I finally made it to my seat at Atlanta Motor Speedway on Sunday. The skies had cleared and the fans were out in full force. I had an awesome seat right across from Victory Lane.

After making the appropriate purchases (an awesome shirt) and making a phone call to my buddy...also a Derrike fan...just to rub it in that I was there and he was not, it looked like we were going to have a race. I watched the cars line up and we were looking good.

At 1:15 pm the rains began and soon the race was postponed until Monday at 11:00 am. Four hours later I made it back to the house I was staying at and started to make phone calls to change my plane ticket so I could attend Monday's race. No such luck, it would have cost me $200 to change it and that was not in my budget (although I definitely thought about charging it). So..... I sat in the Atlanta airport along with about 40 other forlorn race fans watching the race on TV until it was time to catch my flight. I caught my flight at 3:00 pm and had to wait for the results until I got home to my computer. Oh well, Dover is in my future.
