Derrike Cope took the road course for qualifying and ended up in 28th position. The team elected against requalifying and ended up in 32nd position as some of the other drivers who did requalify had better times.

Following are some of the positions Derrike was in during the 90 lap race:

• 29th - lap 9
• 26th - lap 24
• 30th - lap 33
• 22nd - lap 47
• 18th - lap 57
• At this point, there was a caution and the leaders including Derrike pitted. However a number of drivers did not pit and the leaders had to restart the race behind those cars.
• 22nd - lap 71
• 19th - lap 85

Derrike finished the race in 16th position. If the team can return to their great qualifying times, the finishes should be a lot better too.
