The team will be racing in the Cup Showdown in Charlotte. Derrike told us earlier, "We hope to attempt some additional Cup races later in the year, but will use the Showdown at Charlotte as a barometer for what we need to work on to be better prepared in future attempts."

In the practice, Derrike was 27th fastest with a time of 30.772 and speed of 175.484.

Showdown qualifying was rained out so the lineup was based on owner's points. This put Derrike in 28th position.

Derrike started the race in 28th position and finished in 19th.
