This Weekend
October 24, 2009 -
Derrike gave us an update for the weekend. He said, "The plans for this weekend
are as follows. I will be driving the #64 Sprint Cup car for Larry Gunselman at
Martinsville, VA. I withdrew the #75 car because it looks like rain is eminent
for Friday and the opportunity for me to drive was available.
"Additionally, we will have both Nationwide Series cars in Memphis. Kevin Lepage will be in the #78 and Chase Miller will be driving the #73 for us. We have stuggled here lately which has me a bit disturbed, but we will just have to work harder to rectify some of the mistakes that we have been making and try and become more productive."
Lowe's
May 9, 2009 -
Derrike said, "It is off to the Showdown at Lowes Motor Speedway where flipNbags will be back
on the Cup car along with Blu Frog energy drink as an associate sponsor. Gary
Keller, myself, and Rick and Del Markle are really excited about Lowes and the
weeks ahead."
Derrike Update
April 20, 2009 -
Derrike updated us by saying, "We seem to have a lot going on as of right now.
We will begin a very busy month of May starting at Richmond in the Nationwide
Series where I will be driving the flipNbags.com Dodge and will continue on to
Darlington and Lowes Motor Speedway. Additionally, we will have our Sprint Cup
effort at The Showdown at Lowes Motor Speedway during All Star weekend. We will
be debuting a new flipNbags.com paint scheme for that race as well. I am very
pleased and excited to get in my own race cars and get back to racing!"
Daytona Week Update
February 15, 2009 -
Derrike said, "With Daytona coming to a close I have to admit it was not the
performance I was looking for. We were unable to transfer out of the Gatorade
Duel 150 mile race to make the Daytona 500. We were not able to keep up in the
draft. I am certainly disappointed for the team, Gary Keller and myself, as well
as the fantastic sponsors who came on board to support our effort, Blu Frog
Energy Drink and Top Secret Wax (FW1). They were all very supportive and I look
forward to trying to provide some further exposure for them as we progress
forward during the year.
"We could never really find the speed necessary in the Cup car or the Nationwide series car for Rick Ware Racing #41. We failed to qualify for the Nationwide race as well.
"The one bright spot was the Truck Series effort for Blu Frog Energy Drink with Larry Foyt driving. Although we had a problem in qualifying (the starter hung up in the flywheel) which hurt our laps, we still made the race. Larry started at the back because the crew had to replace the starter, clutch, and flyweel prior to starting the race. Larry worked hard all night and started to get up in the middle of the pack right before we had a truck spin in the tri-oval and we got some front end damage. The crew worked hard to fix what they could and we finished the race 20th.
"It was a difficult Speedweeks for us, but we will regroup and get ready to attempt some more races in the near future.
"I will be back in the #41 Nationwide series car for Rick Ware in California and Las Vegas. We hope to rebound out there and get things headed in the right direction.
"I will let you know where our next Cup race will be, probably Bristol!"
Blu Frog Energy to Sponsor
February 4, 2009 -
The Limu Company will be making a major splash with the launch of its Blu Frog
Energy drink by sponsoring entries in the Daytona 500, the Camping World 300,
and the NextEra Energy 250 at Daytona International Speedway next week.
Blu Frog Energy will be the primary sponsor for the #75 Blu Frog Energy Dodge that will be running to qualify for the Great American Race, the Daytona 500, to be held on Sunday, February 15. Derrike will drive the #75 Dodge owned by Cope/Keller Racing in one of the Gatorade Duel Twin 150-mile qualifying races.
Second generation driver Larry Foyt will drive the #56 Blu Frog Energy Chevrolet Monte Carlo in the Camping World 300 on Saturday, February 14. MacHill Motorsports owns the #56. The Nationwide Series race features Larry Foyt and the rest of the rising stars of NASCAR facing off against the veterans of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series in an exciting 120-lap, 300-mile event starting at 1:00pm EST.
Larry Foyt will also drive the #74 Blu Frog Energy Dodge Truck in the NextEra Energy 250 Camping World Truck Series race on Friday, February 13. Cope/Keller Racing also owns the #74 Truck. That race will pit NASCAR's toughest trucks and drivers in a 100-lap battle under the lights starting at 7:30pm EST.
"We're really delighted to have The Limu Company and the new Blu Frog Energy drink as our sponsor," said Cope, the 1990 Daytona 500 Champion. "We're especially excited to create great synergy for the Blu Frog Energy brand in combination with Larry Foyt. It's pretty rare but very powerful to have three separate vehicles creating major branding and awareness opportunities for the same company. This Speed Week should give a huge boost to the Blu Frog Energy brand!"
Foyt echoed Cope's enthusiasm saying, "Our entire race team is excited about the opportunity to partner with The Limu Company and Blu Frog Energy in their national launch. They have a really exceptional product that our team loves, and the Blu Frog Energy brand is an exciting one that NASCAR fans will embrace. All of LimuNation will be thrilled with our races at Daytona, and we're just as thrilled to have Blu Frog Energy on board as our primary sponsor."
"All of us at The Limu Company are incredibly energized about our sponsorship positions at Daytona this year," said Gary Raser, Founder, President and CEO of The Limu Company. "Our members across the U.S. and around the world, almost 50,000 strong, are huge NASCAR fans and can't wait to see Derrike Cope and Larry Foyt race at Daytona with Blu Frog Energy. This incredible brand visibility comes at a perfect time for us, supporting our national launch of our new Blu Frog Energy Drink. And what better way to launch the brand than at Daytona! We're thrilled to be going racing with NASCAR and to be a part of the Great American Race, and the most-watched racing weekend in America."

Cope/Keller Racing Update
January 5, 2009 -
Derrike told us, "We at Cope/Keller Racing have intentions of going to at
least the first five Sprint Cup races as well as a Full truck schedule for one
truck at this time. Obviously, that can change because sponsorship is key to all
things as it is to all other entities. We have had discussions with a number of
companies and look to finalize some relationships with some others here shortly.
We are optimistic about the 2009 endeavors, but have a lot of work to do between
now and the time we leave for Daytona...about 30 days!"
Cope/Keller Racing
December 21, 2008 -
Derrike told us, "I wanted to provide an update about the Cope/Keller Racing
Teams plans for Daytona. Gary Keller and I are preparing cars for the beginning
of the 2009 Sprint Cup Series season. We will enter a one car team at Daytona
and are preparing ourselves for a limited schedule beyond that with the
possibility of continuing on to California and Las Vegas as well. We are both
actively pursuing relationships with companies as we speak, and are excited
about the possibilities."
