Derrike will be participating in the Sprint Cup Showdown this weekend. He
said, "It is off to the Showdown at Lowes Motor Speedway where flipNbags will be
back on the Cup car along with Blu Frog energy drink as an associate sponsor.
Gary Keller, myself, and Rick and Del Markle are really excited about Lowes and
the weeks ahead."
In the first practice, Derrike was 30th fastest of 35 cars with a time of
31.038 and speed of 173.980.
Qualifying was canceled because of rain so the lineup was set by the
qualifying order putting Derrike starting the race in 17th position.

After the race he said, "This past weekend at Lowes went pretty well. We were
able to accomplish what we set out to do which was get some laps and learn. With
the weather we were unable to try and get our two laps of qualifying in, but we
started 17th. In practice the car was very tight and would not turn, but we made
significant changes for qualifying and thus that is where we started the race
at. I took it pretty easy at the start and we obviously we were passed and faded
back. We were still very tight and the car did not respond well so I really was
unable to fight very hard. We came in at the 20 lap break and made some
adjustments which seemed to help but still was tight. "Although we really
hoped for better, we still were pleased with the outcome and have some
direction where we need to go with this car. Our plans are to take the other
car (the one we had at Martinsville) to Dover and attempt to qualify for the
race. We have a steep learning curve with this Cup car, but we are excited
about the prospects and look forward to Dover in two weeks."
