McGlynn Racing will be going to
Darlington.
Derrike told us last week, "I am looking forward to Darlington! Things seem
to be going well for us and I hope to continue the streak this week and have a
great qualifying effort and get in the show. It is a Saturday night race which
is exciting, so I am already wanting to get down there and I know the team feels
the same way."
In the first practice,
Derrike was 36th fastest with a time of 30.395 and speed of 161.790.
In qualifying, Derrike
turned his fastest lap of 29.776 and speed of 165.153. At the end of the
round, the #74 Sundance Vacations/Royal Administration Services Dodge was in
33rd position where Derrike will start the race for the team's best starting
position of the year.
In Happy Hour, Derrike
was 42nd fastest with a time of 31.576 and speed of 155.738.
After qualifying, Derrike
said, "I am obviously pleased and excited how well things have been going.
All the guys are doing a great job! The engine is running well and I am
making some good laps in qualifying. We unloaded off the truck with the
Sundance Vacations, My Guardian 911, Royal Administration Dodge a little
loose and a bit of a brake issue, but it was quickly resolved and we
continued to get quicker. When it came time to qualify we went out 5th and I
got through 1 and 2 pretty good, but really got in turn three hard and it
stuck pretty well, and I was able to get to the throttle very quickly and
with a lot of authority. So it put us 33rd fastest. We did not make many
laps in Happy Hour, but the car seemed pretty good. I am looking forward to
tonight."

Derrike started the race in 33rd position and finished in
43rd.
