Pre-Race

Derrike will be driving in Kansas City with GBR Online as the sponsor.

In the first practice Derrike was 45th fastest with a time of 31.166 and speed of 173.266.

In qualifying, Derrike produced a time of 31.460 and speed of 171.646. This was not fast enough for the top 36 so the team had to take a provisional to make the race. They will be starting in 41st position.

In the 2nd practice, Derrike was 43rd fastest with a time of 31.958 and speed of 168.972. In Happy Hour, he was 43rd fastest with a time of 31.766 and speed of 169.993.

The Race

Derrike started the race in 41st position. On lap 10 there were problems and he had to go to the garage. He ended up finishing the race in 38th position.

Official Report

Looking back on Sunday’s race Derrike summed up his thoughts, "We continue to learn more each time that we are on the track. We continue to struggle with qualifying. Clearly we need more horses and are working to increase our power plant output. I was pleased with our Happy Hour. In the race, we were too loose to start and adjusted to overcome that condition. As we made changes we improved. We developed an oil leak and lost twenty laps as we repaired it. Our crew continues to improve each week as we gain additional experience."
