Pre-Race

Derrike will be driving the #37 Chevrolet with Friendly's as the sponsor.

In the first practice Derrike was 43rd fastest with a time of 55.556 and speed of 161.999.

In qualifying, Derrike produced a lap of 55.141 and speed of 163.218. This was not fast enough for the top 36 so the team had to take a provisional and will be starting the race in 41st position.

In the second practice, Derrike was 41st fastest with a time of 56.113 and speed of 160.391. In Happy Hour, he was 40th fastest with a time of 56.116 and speed of 160.382.

Derrike started the race in 41st position and finished in 42nd.

Official Report

After the race Derrike said, "Pocono was a real disappointment for us. We struggled with speed and handling. The car was tight and we were making changes that were freeing the car up as we ran laps. I made the decision to take some gear out of the car. That was a mistake and as a result we had trouble with gaining speed coming out of the turns. We saw improvement in out pit stops at Pocono. As our team gains experience I know that our improvement will continue."

Derrike did mention that they didn't replace the fuel pump because debris could have gotten into the engine.
