Derrike will be behind the wheel of the CLR Ford Taurus for this weekend's race in Las Vegas. The team tested at the Las Vegas track earlier in the year. Regarding this week's race, Derrike commented, "Our test session at Las Vegas was positive. Overall, our speeds were in line with the competition. Our team has made improvements in the car based on the data that we accumulated in our testing. I am looking forward to being behind the wheel this weekend and expect that we will have a competitive showing."

In Friday's first practice, Derrike was 35th fastest with a time of 32.162 and speed of 167.895.

Derrike took the track as the fourth car out in qualifying and had a first lap of 32.241 and speed of 167.49. The second lap was 32.127 and speed of 168.08 which put the car in fourth place at the time. At the end of the round, the car had been pushed to the 38th fastest but since the car did not have provisionals, they needed to be in the top 36. Thus, the #57 CLR Ford Taurus will not be in Sunday's race. They missed the show by 13/100 of a second.
