Derrike will be driving the CLR Ford Taurus. After the Kansas race, Derrike said, "We got a lot of information and experience that will be invaluable to our team as we prepare for Charlotte this weekend."

In the first practice, Derrike was 46th fastest with a time of 30.264 and speed of 178.43.

In qualifying, Derrike produced a time of 29.802 and speed of 181.196. At the end of the round, it was 39th quickest but because of provisionals, the team was left out of the race.
