Derrike will be driving the Dee Zee sponsored Pontiac in the Coca Cola 600 this weekend. Commenting earlier today Derrike told us, "We are gearing up for tomorrow and are looking forward to a strong qualifying effort. Our qualifying motor is in the Dee Zee Pontiac and we are ready to run. I am pleased with the gains that we have made in our engine department since the Open." 

In practice, Derrike was 46th fastest with a time of 30.422 and speed of 177.503.

In qualifying, Derrike took the track as the 25th of 49 cars. His first lap was a time of 30.053 and speed of 179.68 while the second was quicker at 29.937 and speed of 180.38. This put the Dee Zee Pontiac in 22nd position at the time. At the end of qualifying, the team was left in 42nd position which unfortunately meant missing the race.
