Winston Open

Derrike is pleased to announce that he will be driving in the Winston Open for Dee Zee, Incorporated. Dee Zee will sponsor the Quest Motor Racing Pontiac in the Open and will be an associate sponsor throughout the year. Dee Zee, based in Des Moines, Iowa, specializes in quality light duty truck accessories for the truck enthusiast. Speaking of this new sponsor association Derrike commented, "I am pleased to be affiliated with Dee Zee. We are excited to play a role in their marketing program and to participate in new product launches in June. I will be doing posters and other point of sale promotional materials to support their line of quality products and will be shooting a commercial for Dee Zee, Inc. in June."

During qualifying for the Winston Open, Derrike took the track as the 18th car. He finished the round to start in 26th position with a speed of 177.009 and time of 30.507. Here is a RealVideo clip at the beginning of the qualifying. Thanks to Jeff Gutshall for the video.

In Saturday's first practice, Derrike was 23rd fastest with a time of 31.261 and speed of 172.739.

Derrike started the race in 27th position and finished in 29th position. On lap 2, Derrike entered pit road for some reason.
