The team will be going to Darlington but Everything-Commerce.com has decided not to continue sponsorship at this time, although they may be back later in the year. Derrike expressed high praise for the company and looks forward to working with them in the future. On another note, Derrike's nieces have their first race this weekend in the NASCAR Late Model Sportsman division in Yakima, WA on Saturday night. They will be carrying the State Fair Corn Dog sponsorship and Derrike is excited to hear the results. In Friday's morning practice, Derrike was 28th fastest of the 48 drivers with a time of 29.425 and speed of 167.123. In the afternoon practice, he had slipped to 43rd fastest with a time of 29.529 and speed of 166.534. In first round qualifying, Derrike took the track as the 4th driver and completed a lap of 29.271 and speed of 168.002. At the end of the round the team was left in 47th position. In Saturday morning's practice, Derrike was 45th fastest with a time of 30.436 and speed of 161.571. In second round qualifying, Derrike produced a lap of 29.371 and speed of 167.430. Because of other team's provisionals, this left the #15 Ford in 44th position and out of the race. There was an article about the misfortunes of the team, and then another after qualifying. |
