Marilyn Rundell provided these photos of Derrike in his early racing years, in addition to photos of his parents.


Taken on April 27, 1986 at Martinsville Speedway for the Sovran Bank 500. Derrike was driving for Team Peterbilt and Rabanco Racing Ltd. out of Seattle. He was living in Campobello, South Carolina at that time.


Taken at Monroe, WA. I am not certain of the year. My guess is that he flew back and drove a rented car for the Western Washington 500 race (thus the different uniform).	From a Team Peterbilt press kit done up by Rabanco Racing in March 1986. He planned to run about half of the NASCAR Winston Cup Grand National races that year.


Derrike's father, Don Cope. This picture was taken at Don's home in Spanaway, Washington during July of 1995.	Derrike's late mother, Delores Cope. She was a terrific lady. The picture was taken at Evergreen Speedway, Monroe, Washington in August 1985.
