| The fiirst time that I met Derrike
Cope was at Pocono, after he lost his ride in the #98 car. It was along autograph alley
after practice on Saturday. Most of the other drivers walk right past everyone to their transporters. The crew members were pushing the car and Derrike was riding in it. I called to him and he had them stop pushing the car, so he could get out. He came over and signed autographs for anyone that wanted one. He went up and down the fence line twice to make sure that everyone got an autograph. He spent a long time there when he could have been relaxing in his transporter. He was very friendly and answered any questions we had. It was the highlight of my weekend. I was a fan long before that but that instilled in me, how really nice a person Derrike really is. I wish him the best of luck this year, and to all the members of the team! I am sure we will see the #30 in victory lane this year. Thank you for listening to my story. |
