My wife and I are Derrike Cope fans. We are relatively new fans, starting at the end of '93. I liked racing and my wife didn't, but she liked the Mane 'n Tail shampoo, so she used that as a reason to "sit" through all the Sundays glued to the TV. Now she is a racefan as much as I! We have come to be Cope fans, as he has been one of our common interests all through racing, and has helped Kristy (wife) get into racing in the first place.

Last May we went to Sonoma and saw our first race in person! (we live in California). It was spectacular. It was unfortunate that Cope and Petty decided to play bumper tag at the 180 degree turn at the start/finish line, but we got to see the last showing of the Bobby Allison car in the Mane 'n Tail sponsor colors before the change to Badcock. We are going to Fontana, and we may have a connection to a NASCAR official and may be able to get up close and personal to Cope and the SKITTLESŽ car.

I was so excited about the Sonoma race that we went to that I bought a $500 camera to take pictures. I couldn't get into the garage area but I got some good pictures of cars on the track.

It is great to see this page; there is so much great stuff for a Cope fan. I look forward to checking back frequently and wish Derrike and his whole team the best of success in '97. Thanks for giving us Cope fans a home on the web!
