I have followed NASCAR Winston Cup for a lot of years now. I started keeping an eye on Derrike Cope when he drove for Jim Testa. He showed lots of potential.

When Derrike passed Earnhardt to win the Daytona 500, I was so excited for him and the Purolator team. Later that year DC won at Dover. He made up 1 lap and won (he dominated that day).

His years with Bobby Allison Motorsports were fun to watch. Too bad the money went away, that team would have won some races. Derrike's a class act and a fiery competitor.
