| I wanted to start by
telling you how I became a Derrike fan. I was watching TV with some of my
buddies in 1990. They interviewed Derrike before the Daytona 500. After
the interview I told my buddies that I am pulling for him as he has a
great attitude. So ever since then I have been a huge Derrike fan.
I finally got to meet Derrike at Talladega in 1998 and I told him what a great website he had.
I travel all over Alabama looking for anything with Derrike Cope on it. One time I went to this collector. He told me Racing Champions had come out with a Skittles gold car 1 of 166. I thought, man, I have got to have it. I bet I went to at least ten different places looking for that car. I finally found one in Boaz, Alabama.
Every time I go to a hobby shop and ask for Derrike Cope collectibles, they say that Cope guy is really friendly and down to Earth. I have my curio cabinet with my collectibles on the display case page. I have so many collectibles that I am going to have to buy another cabinet. I have a couple of newspaper clippings. This black '98 Bojangles is a model. I couldn't find the 1/24 diecasts so I had to order some decals and make a model.
I visit the website at least twice a day and check the forum and guestbook everyday.
