Chuck McCoy

While visiting my mother in Florida, my wife Theresa and I drove their motorhome up slightly north to Atlanta Ga, in 1990 for the race. Having pretty good connections, my wife and I acquired garage passes, of which we met many drivers. We have treasured pictures with the King, Davey Allison, Alan Kulwicki, Neil Bonnett, and many others, not the least to say Derrike, as you can see from the picture using my Snappy.

He had recently won the Daytona 500, and being honored to speak with him, you would think his head would be in the clouds! Not so... He spent about 35 minutes showing me his tractor trailer, and complete operation of which there was never an uncomfortable moment! My hats off to a down to earth, real person that has obtained, so far, a feat that even Dale Earnhardt hasn't achieved!!!

Derrike has overtaken my NASCAR room! Working for a GM dealership had made it kind of difficult rooting for a FORD, but I stuck in there, and am very pleased, and looking forward to his new ride with Pontiac, in 1997! Good luck, and Hello to all of Derrike's fans from Tucson Arizona, the land of Winter Heat, along with congratulations to Jeff and Bob Cope for an awesome Website!!!
