Fan club member Greg Mabe was at the race. He stated that "he was
involved in the accident in turn 2 on lap 3. Buckshot tried to stop to
avoid the wreck and Derrike hit him in the rear. From where I was sitting,
the damage didn't look that bad. Later I saw Derrike pitting under green.
He never came out. I heard Kyle and Benny on my scanner during a
commercial break say that Derrike had lost an engine." Thanks
Greg!
