In practice, Derrike was 32nd fastest with a time of 30.261 and speed of 178.448. Kevin was 33rd fastest with a time of 30.272 and speed of 178.383.

In Qualifying, Derrike was 44th fastest with a time of 30.341 and speed of 177.977. Kevin was 34th fastest with a time of 30.019 and speed of 179.886. Unfortunately because of the rules in the Nationwide Series, neither time was fast enough to make the race.
