Derrike
will be bringing two cars to Atlanta. He said, "We are off to Atlanta
this weekend. We do not have any sponsorship for either car so there will
not be much racing involved I hate to say. We need to get both cars
qualified in which is quite a task these days. Everyone brings great
equipment to the track each week and we are trying to stay up with our own
effort so we do not fall behind. Kevin Lepage and I look forward to Atlanta.
We both run well there so we look for good things."
In the first practice, Derrike did not participate but Kevin was 32nd

After the race, Derrike said, "Atlanta...Good and bad! This past weekend in
Atlanta had some good things happen and some bad things. As for the good, Kevin
Lepage qualified 17th with the #78 car. We are very pleased because we have been
trying to get a handle on this car on the intermediate tracks and it showed a
lot of promise there as well as in the race, although we did not have the
funding necessary to race Kevin though the car showed a lot of speed in race
trim which we have been suffering with in both cars.
"As for the #73, I was not so fortunate. On the very first lap of
practice a slow car moved up in front of me and when I followed him into the
corner his car bottomed out and turned sideways in front of me and we ran
into him hurting the front end of the race car. I missed all of practice and
just went for a qualifying lap. With no laps we made a few adjustments for
the weather and what we had learned on the #78 car, but it was still very
loose and we missed the race by 7 one hundreths of a second. Certainly very
dissapointed but that is racing.
"We hope to bounce back this weekend at Richmond. We will enter both the
#73 and the #78 car once again."
