Derrike told us after Daytona. "On a brighter note, it looks like I will be driving a Chevrolet Nationwide
Series car in California and Las Vegas for Jimmy Means with the number 52. I do
not have all the particulars as of yet, but I will be getting fitted in the car
on Monday. I am looking forward to getting back to the track!"
Qualifying was rained out for the Nationwide race so the starting
lineup was based on owner's points. This put Derrike in the #52 Jimmy Means
Racing Chevrolet in 38th position.

Derrike started the race in 38th position and finished in 36th position. The race was supposed to first
be held Saturday night but it was rained out. It was then to be held Sunday
after the Cup race but both races got rained out. It was finally run
on Monday after the Cup race.

After the race, Derrike said, "The weather was not very kind to us this week.
The fields were set by points which had us starting 38th. We got very little
practice and we were trying to coil bind and we struggled a bit getting it where
I could drive it. The car was very loose and I could not drive it early. Once we
got a caution flag we were able to tighten the car up and make it a bit better.
We then ran out of gas and Jimmy decided to park the car and save it for Las
Vegas. I hope to make some adjustments and get the coil bind more efficient so
we can be more competitive this coming weekend."
