Derrike will be driving in the Busch race this weekend. He said, "I
will be driving a back up car for Jay Robinson Racing, car number 49, at Milwaukee
this weekend. It will be a start and park this week. We will use it as a
practice session to get a feel for future races."
Derrike did not participate in the first practice but in the second practice, he
was 28th fastest with a time of 30.477 and speed of 118.122.
In qualifying, Derrike produced a lap of 30.879 with a speed of 116.584. At the
end of the round the #49 Chevy was in 34th position.
Derrike told us before the race, "We put eight
laps on the car in practice and then did a two lap mock qualifying run and ended
up in 28th overall. We did not make many changes and did not have any tape on
the car to speak of. In qualifying we went out 2nd and the car was just too
loose on the first lap and I overdrove the corners a bit which hurt the lap. So
I just smoothed out the second lap and got the car in the field. Tonight we will
probably drop to the back and make a couple of laps and park it. I will let you
know what is next when I get confirmation."

Derrike started the race in 34th
position and finished in 43rd position.

After the race, Derrike said, "We took the green and came in the garage.
That car is going to Loudon so they wanted minimal laps on the engine."
