Derrike will be driving the #49 Triad Custom Decks Ford in Charlotte.

The team did not participate in the first practice. In the second practice, Derrike was 48th fastest with a time of 30.894 and speed of 174.791.

In Qualifying, Derrike's fastest lap was 30.583 with speed of 176.569. This put the #49 Ford in 48th position which was not fast enough to make the race.

Derrike updated us by saying, "Our struggles at Charlotte continued in qualifying. With only 6 laps in the car the night before we obviously had a lot to overcome. The car never ever really showed signs of getting the job done. The crew threw a totally new setup on the car for qualifying in an attempt to find the necessary speed but it was not to be. The car stepped out on me in turn 3 and I had to battle her to keep it from getting out from under me, thus certainly falling short of what it would take to get in. Looking back on the week's effort I still think we learned a few things from Thursday's attempt at qualifying that should pay some dividends in the coming weeks. We just have to use it as a test session to try and progress."
