Derrike told us, "I
will be at Dover this weekend driving the number 94 BGN car for Jay Robinson
Racing. Practice begins on Thursday afternoon. I always look forward to racing
at Dover. It is a very demanding track for both the driver and the crew chief.
It is the same car that we ran at Bristol and qualified with pretty well. I will
give an update on Thursday evening to discuss the day and my thoughts on
qualifying."
Mighty EZY was listed as the sponsor of the
#94.
In the first practice, Derrike was 47th
fastest with a time of 25.427 and speed of 141.582. In Happy Hour, he was
39th fastest with a time of 24.236 and speed of 148.539.
Derrike gave us an update. "We struggled with
the car in the first practice. We were bottoming out going into the corners.
We made some changes for the second practice and the car came around. I
think we were 39th fastest in final practice. I think there is some left in
the car and look forward to qualifying. We will go out late, 43rd I think. I
will let you all know what happens tomorrow evening."
In Qualifying, Derrike produced a lap of
24.152 with speed of 149.056. This put the #94 car in 46th position which
was not fast enough to make the race.

Derrike provided this following his Dover
qualifying attempt. "I am quite disappointed with the results in qualifying
today. It did not work out as I thought it would. I was really confident that
we would make the field...but, when I went out for my lap there was a miss in
the engine going into turn three. Then going into turn one the car bottomed out
on the front radiator brace and I just did not get back into the gas quick enough.
Also the car was tight for some reason and would not turn. This is very frustrating
for me and I know for Jay and the team. Shane Hall got the 28 car in and Steve
Grissom is in with the 49 Advil car so hopefully they will have good efforts.
I will let you know soon about my future plans."
