Derrike will be at the wheel of the #94
Ford car for Jay Robinson Racing in Phoenix. HoodiaChoice will be the sponsor.
Jay Robinson Racing will be running three cars in the race, Derrike in the #94,
Steve Grissom in the #49, and Jimmy Kitchens in the #28 sponsored by
AMD/RadioShack.
HoodiaChoice, the revolutionary approach to
dieting and wellness, is celebrating a new sponsorship with Jay Robinson
Racing with a special free offer for racing fans. NetworkersChoice
International, which markets HoodiaChoice, will be primary sponsor for
Derrike Cope in Jay Robinson Racing's #94 Ford in Friday night's NASCAR
Busch Series race at the one-mile Phoenix (Ariz.) International Raceway.
In the meantime, NASCAR fans will be able to get a free sample of
HoodiaChoice by logging onto www.hoodiachoice.com and entering code number
255014 or calling 1-866-424-4623.
"A sponsor coming into the sport and wanting to sell something to fans is
pretty commonplace but how often does one come in wanting to give something
away?" said Cope, the Spanaway, Wash., native who won the 1990 Daytona 500.
"We're excited about NetworkersChoice joining us, and we hope everybody will
go to www.hoodiachoice.com, plug in code number 255014 and try this product
absolutely free," Cope said.
"Having a chance to help the loyal NASCAR audience with a product like
HoodiaChoice is exciting for all of us at NetworkersChoice," said Michael
Nadeau, President/CEO, of the Merritt Island, Fla., based company. "We think
it's great to have an opportunity to show HoodiaChoice off to NASCAR fans,
as well as to give them a chance to see what a great product we have at no
cost to them."
HoodiaChoice contains Hoodia Cactus. Not really new, it has been used by the
indigenous tribal people in South Africa as a natural appetite suppressant
and thirst quencher during long hunting trips for generations. Hoodia Cactus
contains a molecule that is estimated to be up to 100,000 times as potent as
glucose in sending a signal to the brain that the body is in a state of
satiety, or in common terms not hungry.
In clinical tests... In humans, two groups were given equal diets and placed
in a setting where there was nothing to do but sit, eat, read or watch TV.
One group was given Hoodia and the other a placebo. The Hoodia group
consumed on average 1000 calories a day less than the placebo group.
The active Hoodia plant compound is called "the P57" A molecule in the
cactus makes you feel full! It works by mimicking the effect glucose has on
the nerve cells in the brain, in effect telling us we aren't hungry, curbing
our appetite. Imagine this: an all-natural organic supplement that kills the
appetite and attacks obesity. It has no known side effects, and "the P57"
molecule that fools your brain into believing you are full.
Hoodia has made a huge impact in North America and has revolutionized the
diet industry, featured on CBS 60 Minutes, Correspondent Lesley Stahl
explained, "Imagine not being hungry all day without feeling side effects
typical of diet pills, like a racing heart or queasy stomach."
None of the Jay Robinson teams participated
in the first practice. In the second practice, Derrike was 42nd fastest of
45 drivers with a time of 28.787 and speed of 125.056.
Derrike had to make the race in qualifying
based on speed. He produced a time of 28.524 and speed of 126.210. Guess
what, this was not fast enough so Derrike missed the race while Jimmy
Kitchens in the #28 made the race on owner points without even qualifying.

Derrike missed the race initially because he drove the #94
and had to make the race on speed, but wasn't fast enough. It turned out
though that he ended up taking the #28 ride for the race. As a result, the
#28 went to the back of the field because of the transmission and driver
change.

Derrike finished 29th in Saturday's race and
gave the following rundown. "There were inspection problems with the #28
Ford and as a result we had limited practice and did not make a qualifying
attempt. In the race the car was extremely tight. We continued to work on it
throughout the race, but just couldn't get it dialed in. I won't be driving
this Saturday at Talladega. Jimmy Kitchens has some sponsorship money for
that race so I will be sitting it out."
