Derrike will be at the wheel of the #49 at Daytona for the Busch Series Koolerz 300 on February 15. Derrike had the following comments regarding this race. “We had an abbreviated but highly productive test in the 49 car at Daytona. I was exceedingly pleased with our times and believe that we have a car very capable of running up front. Right now we are working to nail down sponsorship for the Daytona Busch race.” In the first practice held on Tuesday, Derrike was 37th fastest with a time of 50.333 and speed of 178.809. In the second practice Derrike had a time of 49.785 with speed of 180.777 which put him 31st fastest. In the third practice held on Wednesday, Derrike was 33rd fastest with a time of 49.788 and speed of 180.766. In qualifying, Derrike's fastest lap was a time of 50.144 and speed of 179.483. This was not among the top 36 but the team was able to take a provisional and Derrike will be starting in 40th position. In the fourth practice held on Thursday, Derrike was 37th fastest with a time of 49.031 and speed of 183.557. In the fifth practice held on Friday, Derrike was 4th fastest with a time of 47.345 and speed of 190.094.
Derrike started the race in 40th position and moved up through the race to finish in 13th position on the lead lap.
