Pre-Race

Derrike Cope, Winston Cup regular and FOX Television Host steps up to the plate to help out the DF2 RaceFanFun.com #94 “Gioia” BUSCH Race Team. Cope, will be driving the #94 car for DF2 in the BUSCH Series Sam’s Town 300 this Saturday plus drive in Sunday’s Las Vegas Winston Cup event. The team’s regular driver, BUSCH Rookie Daniel Johnson has not yet been cleared to drive the Las Vegas Track. A spokesperson for the team said “We are thrilled that Derrike is helping us out in Vegas.” “The team owners Danny Bost and Fred Bickford certainly appreciate Derrike coming through for the DF2 team”. 

Derrike Cope said; “Danny and Fred have really elevated their BUSCH program this year and I am happy to be driving for such a hard working team. I really love racing in the BUSCH Series whenever I can, plus I can get some lap time on the track before racing my CLR Cup Car on Sunday.” Cope said, “I am happy to help out this team as this is a good opportunity for all and I believe we can do well in Saturday’s race”.

The #94 racecar has a primary sponsor for Saturday’s BUSCH Race “Gioia” a jeweler located in the Aladdin Hotel in Las Vegas.

In Thursday's first practice, Derrike was 43rd fastest of 48 drivers with a time of 33.486 and speed of 161.261.

In qualifying, Derrike took the track and produced a time of 32.931 and speed of 163.974. This put the #94 car in 36th position which was fast enough to make the race.
