July 4, 2001 - Derrike will be driving the number 94 at the upcoming Chicagoland Speedway Busch Race on July 14, 2001. Derrike indicated that he anticipates that an announcement of sponsorship for the 94 Busch team will be forthcoming. Derrike commented,"We are excited about the opportunity to drive the 94 car and are looking forward working with that team. It is a new team in its infancy and I look forward to working with them to grow and develop the team."

July 11, 2001 - Derrike has announced that Coinstar, Incorporated will be sponsoring his Number 94 Busch ride in the upcoming Busch race at Chicago. Regarding this one race deal Derrike commented, "Coinstar is from my home area and we are happy to have them on board for the Chicago race. We have put together a strong car and are looking forward to a good effort." The Seattle based company installs coin machines in chain grocery supermarkets. Derrike and the Quest Motor Racing team continue to actively pursue sponsorship for the 37 Pontiac. In discussing sponsorship Derrike said, "We are talking with several entities regarding coming aboard as sponsors. We are hopeful of having sponsorship for the upcoming Indy Cup race. Hopefully we can parlay that sponsorship into a three to five race package."

In Friday's first practice, Derrike was 39th fastest with a time of 31.155 and speed of 173.327.

In the second practice, Derrike was 26th fastest with a time of 30.561 and speed of 176.696.

In Friday's third practice, Derrike was 39th fastest with a time of 30.556 and speed of 176.725.

In first round qualifying, Derrike took to the track as the 41st of 45 drivers to qualify. He completed a lap with a time of 30.784 and speed of 175.416. At the end of the round, he was in 32nd position where he will start the race.

Derrike started the race in 32nd position and finished in 37th position.
